My new blog - British politics

edited March 2012 in General Banter
Hi everyone,
just in case there are any Brits left on this site, I thought you might want to swing by my new blog, 'View from a Parallel Universe'. I meant to be starting it the day I finished my politics degree, but its scary how much time can pass before intention turns into action.

Anyhow, I've started it now. http://viewfromparalleluniverse.blogspot.co.uk/

Non-Brits of course welcome to read it, but it's about British politics, and particularly the new NHS health bill.

This is great. The Yanks on this forum are always yapping about US politics, it's good to get the view from other countries, to balance things out. We can learn by comparing how things are done in different parts of the world. Don't hesitate to start a thread, sometime.

The last person to enter the Houses of parliament with honest intentions was guy fawkes.
Ive always sat more on a principally conservative side with liberal idea however it seems non of them are capable of representing my views. Maybe UKIP.

Lol, I must admit this did make me laugh! The Guy Fawkes part anyway. I never had much of a stance with regards to UK politics, each party failed to suggest anything that met my requirements or that was 100% believable. However, I think that Cameron is doing a good job in cutting spening etc, someone sooner or later HAD to do it, and whoever did it knew they would put their country into a hard position, so IMO that takes balls.

True, however he is not cutting in the right places. EU, Foreign aid...etc.
  • Yes, well I do not know too much about where he is cutting from apart from my mum earns about 500 quid less each month now :shake: Owel. I not like to get involved to much with politics because there are so many people who hold their opinions close to their chest and get into arguments over such a thing. But I guess it is quite important considering it has an effect on your life as you live in the country itself.

Certainly does. some people are suffering greatly because of cutting in the wrong places, Governments should consider the interests of their own people before giving away their hard earned money in time of austerity and analyse area of spending inefficiency and which failed political projects can be put to halt.
  • Just the whole idea of governments and politics just stinks to me though. There is such a stench of power, greed, money, disception and general egotism which simply turns me off. But I understand that in a society it is crucial and people do enjoy to get stuck into such topics and debates. Of course, to each their own.

Politics does stink no surprise though :)

    Hi Ada_B,

I live in the UK and agree with most of what you've said in your blog. Things aren't looking good in this country for many of us at the moment.

    with kind wishes to you,

    D.
  • @Dazzle Thank you for your kind comments. I hope to publish a new post on my blog at least once a week. I'm currently working on a couple of ideas for my next one.
  • @Ada_B I will read it again, thank you.
