Actually, one snippet not available on that site (which is a bit of a bummer) is the fact that they asked a Buddhist Monk (He's French in origin, but living in London) to submit to a brain-scan, whilst meditating...

They discovered that basically, through Meditation, he's 're-wired' his brian, and taught himself Happiness....

He used the term 'Inner happiness' but I have heard it described as a contentment mainly concerned with our physical day-to-day existence, whilst Joy arises from Within, and is more associated with a stable, mental or spiritual contentment...
Mrskarmadillo might like to tune in next week and see if he appears again....

I couldn't help but smile when the announcer propounded information as if it were all newly discovered amazing scientific fact, that, wow and golly-gee...you could 'think' yourself happy....! Just by seeing things differently, and approaching them from a more positive direction.....

    Nick said I looked smug...

    EDIT NOTE:

I just realised I put 'he re-wired his BRIAN' as opposed to his 'BRAIN'.... But, I'm leaving it as it is, out of respect for our Forum Founder...If not for him, where would we be today - ?!?

That's great stuff! I even took the 'Happiness Test', and it came back with 'Highly Satisfied' as the result. *Is also looking smug*

I haven't clicked the link yet because I just wanted to say quickly that my doctor had been reading all the new scientific stuff about the effects of meditation on the brain and he's the one who really pushed me to make meditation a priority in my life. Chronic pain has been shown to reduce the size of the brain, it actually shrinks, and meditation does the opposite.

Oh, no!! Oh, Esau, that's terrible! What absolutely crappy news. Can you find more work or is it going to be hard? My heart goes out to you, Esau. Please let me know if there's anything I can do to help. You can always vent to me by PM. Since I have nothing better to do I can listen until the cows come home and I'd more than happy to.

I'm wishing you peace of mind, Esau.

    With great sympathy,
    Brigid
