Hi @Lincoln

I just noticed that one of the topics does not come up in the Discussions (ie new discussions) list

Is emptiness holy

Maybe it's a technical glitch so just FYI

  • It came up now, please scrap this thread.

I could not delete it for some reason :D

    Danke.
  • Actually, Lincoln, I think the date order or time stamp is wrong because it does not bring up the most recently posted to threads.

So the first post was right.

  • It was put in Buddhism for Beginners category. I know why, lol.

Because that's the default forum. If you want it to go elsewhere, you need to pre-select the forum destination at the time you decide to begin a new thread, or go to that section first and begin a new discussion there.
  • No no, it's in the proper place.
  • The recent threads seem to be popping up again in order, maybe it was just a temporary glitch

    Thanks,
    Abu

If a discussion is sunk, it will stop coming to the top of the list. Otherwise, they should always be in order by most recent comment.
  • Yes, it really did happen because I double checked -- but when I logged out and in again, the glitch was gone.
Anyway if it happens again I'll let you know, otherwise I'll say Dorothy made me do it! :)

    Thanks,
    Abu

Found it again -- this topich which I just responded to does not come up to the top of the list http://newbuddhist.com/discussion/15670/is-emptiness-holy#Item_55

So maybe the software has a minor glitch. It's no big deal but I'm just reporting it so you guys know this can happen

    Cheerio,

As @Lincoln said, if a discussion is sunk, it will stop coming to the top of the list.
  • What makes a topic get sunk? a particular rate of postings?

    It depends.
  • That's what I thought.

O I see, I suspected that (even before Lincoln's post) -- but I thought I should report it in case it was a genuine technical glitch and didn't think you guys would really do something like that. I guess I should have trusted my intuition :) Understood.

    Thanks Jason for the clarification.
