Envision positive outcomes instead of giving into the fear. Often when we travel I have intense visions of us being in a car accident. It's enough to make me afraid to travel and I lose sleep the day before. I just concentrate for a few minutes on a vision of us arriving safely, and that works almost all the time. In other things (usually in dealing with uncomfortable situations) I try to keep in mind that the outcome is rarely going to be as horrible as I fear, and even if it is, worrying about it ahead of time is only ruining this moment. In some other cases, the only way to get over your fear, is to go through it and expose yourself to it so you realize you can handle it.

We are here for reasons good or bad. Whatever happens it can be no worse than not knowing our purpose. If we believe in developing virtues, our good intentions and wisdom will protect us from any evil.

First what is it that you fear? And second, why? Then you can determine how to deal with it. :om:

    Fear can be transcended by
letting go of that which you fear to lose.
or fully embracing that which you fear to gain.
    But in Zen
fear is not to be transcended,
but simply accepted for what it is.
