Treating meditation as exercise

edited August 2012 in Buddhism Basics
We do weight training or cardio for long term benefit. We don't expect results in a few days. Likewise, should meditation be approached with the same attitude - day by day we train the mind and one shouldn't expect results any time soon?

Both have short, medium and long term results - some of them are not always perceived contemporaneously.

Expectation is a path to disappointment.

    Doing inevitably leads to results.
  • If that is the approach you are attracted towards then go for it.

The best form of meditation is the one you will actually practice and do.

    Good luck!
