I think I would have used the term a sad article...but it was definitely interesting too.

This is just another example of greed and short-sightedness in our world today. Instead of protecting and using these sites as a draw for tourism and a smaller, yet consistent and inexhaustible source of revenue (yes, I know too dangerous for most people now), they opt for the short term gain to extract the mineral resources.
