Dear friends,

I just saw the movie Cloud Atlas today. It has good Buddhist message. Some wisdom there. :)

  • Great film! Probably the best film I've seen this year!
  • I guess I should check it out. Could you guys tell us a little more about it?

I thought it was a very, very good film, and less confusing than the book (which I didn't finish). You really do pay close attention to or you will miss some of the relationships. Basically, through hundreds of years the story covers several lives that are interconnected, although the various characters over time never knew each other. For example, I may not have know my great grandfather, but he may have played a role in my life. My students didn't know my favorite college professor, but the kind of teacher/administrator I became was based on him, to a large extent.

I really would recommend reading the Wikipedia entry and the IMDB plot synopsis before seeing the film, because it will help you link together the stories, and I don't feel it will ruin the beauty of the film. It is a rather complex film.
