In life we delude ourselves frequently. We convince ourselves that we are more/less able than we are.
That we are more/less attractive than we are.
The same goes for intelligence, wisdom, and just about every other category.
The reality is that most of us are pretty much middle of the road.
When it comes to discussions about Dharma we need to be very careful. We need to recognise the need for attention and social strokes for ourselves and we need to recognise that in others .
Not in a judgemental way..but in a clear sighted way.
Beware the man or woman who tells you that they have tried everything and found it wanting.
Beware of the woman or man who knows all about everything but has never stuck with anything.
Beware of those who give advice while giving every indication of being superficial and reactionary.
Beware of those who substitute word play for depth.
Dont be that person yourself.
NB . The above are notes to myself.

Thank god for a sangha and teacher who continually mocks us!
