    also a book to check out if this subject interests you is gaias garden 3rd edition. i bought it this fall and it has a massive amount of information from what plants do to repair soil to what plants attract animals that will prey on pests.

    just read the reviews on amazon very well put together book! make sure to get the 3rd edition because it has more information than the other versions.
