VietNamNet Bridge - The Vietnam Buddhist Guinness Programme on Nov. 6 recognised more records, bringing the tota of records it has collected so far to 30.

The programme, co-sponsored by the VietBooks and the Giac Ngo (Enlightenment) newspaper, aimed at collecting 100 Buddhism-related records by 2010.

The latest 10 records include the largest bell installed at the Phat Quang Pagoda in the Phan Thiet Town, the southern central province of Binh Thuan, the Van Duc Pagoda in Ho Chi Minh City with the highest main hall, the Xa Loi Pagada also in HCMC with the highest bell, and the Linh Ung Pagada in the central province of Da Nang with the largest number of stone statues.

Also in the list are the Hoang Phap Pagadoa which has held the largest number of Buddhism training courses for the largest number of followers and the Buu Quang Pagoda in HCM City with its prestige as the first Nam Tong Buddhist Pagoda in Vietnam.

The first international Buddhist conference ever held in Vietnam, dealing with the religious opportunities and challenges in the new stage of development, has also been recognised by the programme in the recent third phase of record collections in celebration of the 25th founding anniversary of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha on Nov. 7.
