In a fourteenth century raid on the fortress at Béziers in which many hundreds of Cathars had secured themselves, along with many Catholics and others, the French king's men, led by, I think, Simon de Montfort, killed nearly 20,000. In an attempt to wipe out all the Cathars, the Abbot of Cîteaux, Arnaud-Amaury, is quoted as saying something like, "Just kill them all. God will sort things out in the end."

That seems to me to make as much sense to what the bearers of arms are doing in Iraq. Perhaps their loyalty is not questioned by their fellow partisans, but their sanity and humanity should be.

BEFORE WORLD WAR BUSH, during the Clinton administration, people used to talk about a NEW WORLD ORDER. Now they only talk about THE TERRORISTS. But are we forgetting that WAR ITSELF is terror??? Therefore, it would seem that the powers that beget and support war are terrorists also. Terrorism is not just the begetting of unexpected and random acts of bloody violence, but much more insane than that. It is the insanity of insanity itself.

To get to the heart of terrorism we need to get to the heart of insanity. And that calls for pure, unbridled compassionate posturing. Insane people, or rather, people who have for a time lost their sanity, need to be approached with utmost care. They need to be reassured that there are resources of care at hand, that caring people are all around, and that the prospects of a return to perfect health are good. Let’s remember that the primary Latin meaning of “sane” is “healthy.”

The New World Order was supposed to be about building the peoples of the world up. Perhaps brick-by-brick, as it were—not necessarily in any extravagant way. BUSH and his cronies lampooned that idea as being beyond our budgetary responsibilities, but three quarters of a billion dollars or more a day for war is a “necessary expenditure” for “security.”

We need to go beyond the labels that, somehow or other, get attached to people, motives, movements, &c, and realize that we are all incomplete as human beings without having another human being to embrace.

In our natural, relaxed state:
the way our arms are forged circle-like,
palms oriented inwards
We are built THAT WAY:
to EmBrAcE
each other
in cooperation
And in Love,
Sisters and Brothers
ALL.

Let everyone be on notice that, regardless of one’s beliefs or associations, the world of tomorrow (IF there’s gonna be a “world” tomorrow) will have room ONLY for brothers and sisters that lay down their egos and “We-goes” in a spirit of undifferentiating acceptance of others.
