Hello!

edited June 2005 in Buddhism Basics
I just want to say hello! I have been looking for a helpful place about buddhism for approximately 7 years now! There's one place in my area but I am nervous about going for the first time and what to expect. I did go once and I thought I was there early and I waited around and no one came out so I left. I'm not keen on going into places late especially where I don't know anyone, AND I had questions before we started so I didn;t know what I might be walking in on...ANYHOW now I just don't know how to get started and I've already ready SOOOO much good information in the forums here. I love this place and I could go on all day about how much I love it.

Welcome to our mob, suenos. You should be able to find some answers here. Like other people have said, you will find that buddhists are very open and friendly and welcoming, so there is nothing to be apprehensive about.

Thanks Brian and Emmak! I think after being here for a while I'll be able to go to the Unitarian church (which is where the meetings take place) and feel more comfortable going in with some knowledge of something. I've always felt that if someone has chosen to be buddhist they must be a lot like me and that's great.
