    Speaking in very general terms, Buddhists ascribe to the rebirth model. Having said that, there are many Buddhists who do not believe in rebirth.

    It's a bit complicated and I think it will require some independent research by the original poster.

    I think ultimately it can be grouped into two broad doctrines/views/suppositions:
    1. Those that believe death is final.
    2. Those that believe it is not.

    Truth seeker,the reason that I say there is an implication of the transmigration of soul in regards to reincarnation is that this is what Hinduism teaches.
    Of course many people will use the term reincarnation and I believe that some sections of Buddhism believe this.
    I was commenting from my own understanding of what the Buddha taught.This is why I prefer the terms rebirth or rebecoming.
