The entire Tipitaka may be had from Pariyatti.org. Quite expensive. Perhaps a more modest beginning?

Over $2,000 for the entire Pali Canon! I hate to say it, but that’s madness considering the wealth of literature available freely on the net. Thank heavens for Access to Insight.

I've just ordered the Middle Length Discourses myself because I have difficulty reading a lot of text on a screen anyway.

For anyone living in the UK, this is a good place to order the books suggested by DD ... and other Buddhist books in general. (I got the Middle Length discourses cheaper than Amazon prices)

It depends which one you mean. As well as the ones people have already pointed out, there are also the Mahayana sutras. However, I find them abstruse and hard to understand.
