That's a quiz of twenty questions and it matches your beliefs in percentage to twenty seven beliefs. My top was 100% in Therevada Buddhism and lowest was 10% in Roman Catholic...
Here's my results...
<!-- Start: Article Content -->
Your Results
The top score on the list below represents the faith that Belief-O-Matic, in its less than infinite wisdom, thinks most closely matches your beliefs. However, even a score of 100% does not mean that your views are all shared by this faith, or vice versa.
Belief-O-Matic then lists another 26 faiths in order of how much they have in common with your professed beliefs. The higher a faith appears on this list, the more closely it aligns with your thinking. How did the Belief-O-Matic do? Discuss your results on our message boards.
What did you get? (I think it's pretty acurate because my top two are Buddhist and my forth is Neo-Paganism...):)
Oh, and tell us what you think about your results as well please, thanks, Joe
iwent to www.belief.net today and took the relgion/belief quiz. It is very interresting. Well if you take it come post your results here if u want. Sometimes the results are so inaccurate its funny.
My question is, why is Hedonism not given its due place in this poll? I mean, this poll is a little bit slanted in that it does not deal with the dualisms in our lives, but with stated beliefs only.
The weakness of this poll is in its stated questions, which really are not intrinsically religious ones. These questions deal with cultural issues such as sexual equality vs male superiority, homosexuality as a vice or not, divorce being allowed or not, etc.
As a ruse, I put the opposite of what I believed and ended up:
1. Eastern Orthodox (100%)
2. Islam (100%)
3. Orthodox Judaism (100%)
4. Roman Catholic (100%)
5. Mainline to Conservative Christian/Protestant (94%)
6. Hinduism (90%)
7. Jehovah's Witness (90%)
8. Theravada Buddhism (82%)
9. Jainism (81%)
10. Seventh Day Adventist (81%)
11. Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (Mormons) (77%)
12. Nontheist (68%)
13. Baha'i Faith (67%)
14. Sikhism (63%)
15. Mahayana Buddhism (59%)
16. Christian Science (Church of Christ, Scientist) (51%)
17. Orthodox Quaker (44%)
18. Scientology (44%)
I am SOOO excited to be 44% Scientologist, the religion of my dreams!
LOL I know it doesn't include no where near all of the religions, like every bit of infomation I recieve, I take it with a pinch of salt (that's metaphorical, to much salt is bad for you, except on fries because they are plain, and if I have to be tortured by smelling delicious chicken, that I can't eat, I've got to have something, oh, and on plain crisps but back to where I were;)) and as a rule of thumb. There's no point on putting all you weight onto one stepping stone or you might sink and get eaten by sharks. (Sorry, I feel very metaphorical and silly today)
Joe
I pretended I did not follow any religion so that my mind was entirely free and not pursuaded to do something a religion would say, and not my answer. This from the deepest part of my brain and what I truly do believe, as the first I did it from a Buddhist view and the second time what I'd like to believe to be 'interesting' LOL. I should stop deluding myself so I simply answered what I believe... and here it is... ;

How am I, Brigid? LOL Em... thankyou for the comment anyway LOL.
Em... I don't understand Simon, can you explain more please, thankyou.
Have you noticed, L'N'P, how different you look on video or in a photo from the 'you' you see each day in the mirror? The mirror you is the reverse of the you on this side, so, perhaps, it is this reversed you that you think you are.
Does that make any more sense?
And if I am the opposite from who I think I am, what then? Perhaps I am really an evangelical literalist, racist m.c.p. - quelle horreur!
Aargh! Now I sort-of understand. In photographs I look like a more happier person because well.... everybody smiles for a photo and even if it's a surprise not many people start flashing photos when your crying. The mirror thing implies the physical to the mind but... does that mean I'm a prejudices racist sexist Roman Catholic or Protestent, my favourite kind of person
I answered personally, not just representing a tradition (since I don't represent a specific tradition). Funny they're all just 2% off... now I have to look up this unitarian universalism since I have no idea what that is.
I usually score highest as a Unitarian Universalist on quizzes like this (which I feel is a bit like being told "Go away, son, you bother me"). 1. Unitarian Universalism (100%) 2. Neo-Pagan (96%) 3. Liberal Quakers (92%) 4. Mahayana Buddhism (82%) 5. New Age (80%) 6. Secular Humanism (79%) 7. Theravada Buddhism (76%) 8. Hinduism (72%) 9. Jainism (72%) 10. Reform Judaism (69%) 11. Taoism (67%) 12. Sikhism (66%) 13. Mainline to Liberal Christian Protestants (63%) 14. Baha'i Faith (59%) 15. Nontheist (54%) 16. Orthodox Quaker (51%) 17. New Thought (50%) 18. Scientology (50%) 19. Orthodox Judaism (45%) 20. Islam (42%) 21. Christian Science (Church of Christ, Scientist) (37%) 22. Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (Mormons) (28%) 23. Seventh Day Adventist (27%) 24. Mainline to Conservative Christian/Protestant (21%) 25. Eastern Orthodox (16%) 26. Roman Catholic (16%) 27. Jehovah's Witness (15%)

Mine came out: 100% Neo-pagan and 100% Unitarian Universalist. What is it with all these UU test results? do the test designers have trouble distinguishing between Buddhism and Unitarianism?
Dunno. Still not sure what UU means in a nutshell. Mine came out 100 UU, 98 Maha, 96 Thera (non-sectarian so makes some sense). If UU has anything to do with keeping an open mind, it would make perfect sense. I did Wiki it and here's a quote:
We, the member congregations of the Unitarian Universalist Association, covenant to affirm and promote
* The inherent worth and dignity of every person; * Justice, equity and compassion in human relations; * Acceptance of one another and encouragement to spiritual growth in our congregations; * A free and responsible search for truth and meaning; * The right of conscience and the use of the democratic process within our congregations and in society at large; * The goal of world community with peace, liberty and justice for all; * Respect for the interdependent web of all existence of which we are a part.[20]
That last part seems right down Buddhism's alley. The rest seems very wise and compassionate as well. I wouldn't call myself UU, but I don't mind so much if it's an open and non-judgmental group that my quick internet research would indicate.
This quote, also from Wikipedia, seems to suggest why Buddhists might come up with higher percentages of UU:
"There is no single unifying belief that all Unitarian Universalists (UUs) hold, aside from complete and responsible freedom of speech, thought, belief, faith, and disposition. They believe that each person is free to search for his or her own personal truth on issues, such as the existence, nature, and meaning of life, deities, creation, and afterlife. UUs can come from any religious background, and hold beliefs from a variety of cultures or religions."
Yeah, anyone with a liberal sort of outlook with regard to religious faith will end up with UU high up on the list, as it's a pretty much "believe what you want and let others believe what they want" club. A religion for the irreligious.
