I have seen a lot of hostility lately on these forums.

I just want to say I love the people here and i love reading and even sometimes posting here.

So i want to ask everyone who wants to, to share something they love, something about the forums, something in their life, just to spread the metta

Hope everyone is good :)

I love the sunshine! Now, if only I could get past the attachment of it, and be happy when it's cloudy for a week straight. :)

I like the feeling of community this forum has inspite of our moments of hostility.

I really haven't seen too much hostility. Though, I admit I haven't been posting here very long and don't read every single thread, so maybe I missed it.

I tend to value freedom of speech a little more than right speech. Not sure if that makes me a bad Buddhist, but I wouldn't have it any other way.

Also, I love my dog. :D

True words. I haven't seen much hostility either. I don't know what the OP is referring to.

We have what I would more define as 'heated exchanges' at times....but trust me - in comparison to other forums, there is no Hostility here, to really speak of.... we're a bunch of pussycats, really....

The most recent thread to engender 'heated exchanges' was the one about bhikkuni ordination... and I think I can safely say that's all been settled amicably.

Yes this what i was reffering to but the main point of the thread was to focus on remembering what we love and by acknowledging it thus being thankful for it. :)

    I love opposites:

    Warmth radiating in stark cold
A young man nursing a feeble old woman
An exotic kiss between opposite types
    Rain falling upon a desert
    A smile upon a convict's face
    Onion bits in dark chocolate
    lambs lying down with lions...

Me neither - and I love baked beans on toast - and I am so grateful and pray for the poor beans to be reborn in the Mixed Bean Heaven-Realms, because their little lives were taken so that I could eat them for my tea.

But pasta is still the best!

Well, beans are OK, I guess. Just don't eat molasses. Do you know how many moles it takes to make them?

I have not seen hostility either; forum is pretty much calm. But I see that sometimes folks just go on and on debating over something which looks more like a desire to prove themselves right. In some suttas I have read that the Buddha himself ignored getting entangled in philosophical arguments because all it does is waste your time. Best thing is to let it go, move on and invest that time and energy in the practice

On what you asked, well I love my mum. :D But I wish I wasn't so attached to her. I also love the Dhamma and respect the concept of letting go.

I love a frank exchange of views. If that triggers hurt feelings for you, we can talk about that, but frankly, if that's the case then you're trying to manipulate a external trigger to what is fundamentally an internal experience, and that's badly off-balance and doomed to failure.

Indian Springs are false springs. Like in winter when it gets warm for a week or two before getting cold again...
The name's a little racist, but it's the only one I know.

Oh, like Indian summers. Why is it racist? One interesting thing I found when I lived in Arizona is that most Indians prefer to be called Indians, not Native Americans. Go figure...
