Any young buddhist out there?

You might also want to read a book by Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche called "The Myth of Freedom". But it is good to get out on your own and start living your own life. Naropa would be a good place to do that as they have a lot of different programs, and they're big on the experiential side of things. That's what attracted me to their psychology program. It was mostly experiential rather than book-learnin'.

Haha I am having fun sharing pictures... hehe
Nice pix. Pretty cats. And Joe, the lobsters have to be big here or they get carried away by the flying pigs.

I have a dog, two rabbits (which I'm allergic to), a budgie (which hates me) and some tropical fish that scare me:D
Yeah, that's me and my mints...
And btw, what's a budgie? And why does it hate you?
That looks like my budgie
How about yourself?
And maybe it's biting you because it likes you? Ever think of that? O_o hehe, jk. Well that's alright though, you have cool pets!
Lets see...about a year....
I have been interested in buddhism for awhile now, though never had the means or motivation to actually start practicing it. And in all honesty, I didn't even know you could follow the religion as a lay person. It is interesting, when I first heard about it, I found the basic ideas of it intriquing, though the way my school (christian) teacher presented it was in a negative way, so it made me think that buddhism was a caveman like belief system. Not "modern", yet I think the precepts and suttas are, though old, more modern than a lot of other beliefs now-a-days. (Modernly applicable that is).
Hehe, I don't think I ever seen someone actually say 'piss off', well not really at least, maybe in a book or movie... haha. :P
Well whatever, he probably just wants to play! hehe!

Hey, you're not supposed to mention that! Shh...
It's funny how if you bring that up with a Christian, they will say it is in the past, that is (no longer) who they are. Yet, a lot of Christians view buddhism as "ideal worshipping, pessimistic, old-fashioned people" Hmm... :P Double standards, anyone?
And people say there's no such thing as evolution!

How about "Christianity-- a history of love and acceptance?" Bah... I don't know, I need some ideas on how to incorporate the Haiti's thing with the X'ians not wanting to help due to the people being 'devil worshipers'. I have changed my topic too many times, and I need a legit one! ARGH!
By the way, do you go to a buddhist centre or anything?
Hahahahah, darn english people and their weird wordings! Hehe
Palzang
LOL, anyway, call the project 'Christianity from a Buddhist pospective'. And then, using your Buddhist beliefs lecture the class about parts of Christianity you agree and disagree with And no I don't go to a centre because I'm embarassed... for some reason. Or maybe I'm embarasses to take my mum. Or maybe I can't be bothered... I'll look into it though...:)

P.S.
On one of my threads I was talking to Brigid and I said when I finished by paragraph; 'If you know what I mean'. And she said; 'I know what you mean jellybean'. And so it's my new nickname. When I had a girlfriend she called us Sooty and Sweep, maybe if I get another it could be Jellybean and Jellybaby
Though that does sound like a good idea! I could do "Jesus vs. Buddha, are the religions closer than we think?" BUT... I don't know if the teacher would like that, or if I would actually be able to present that without getting boo'ed out, hehe.

Jeremy Kyle Show? What? Is this something weird from england?
Palzang
Jeremy Kyle is a hypocritical talk show host who gets a group of 'humans' that evolution sicked up to 'resolve their differences' AKA Do some well rehearsed shouting at each other while being booed or clapped at. A person in the audience always 'happens' to know somebody there and by the end everybody is no better off and they try to pass it off as a factual TV show.

I don't watch TV Palzang! People always make refrences to South Park and I have only watched like maybe 10 episodes! lol.
Besides, it's not really for kids anyway. Wouldn't expect you to be watching it!
Palzang
BUT guess what, the show was based on the middle school I went to! And that crazy bus driver, was our crazy mountain bus driver! And we had who apparently said "mmm k" though he was retired when I came around. My 8th grade history teacher taught one of the directios. Haha... fun little fact.
"There's a bunch of birds in the sky,
and some deers just went running by.
Oh, the snow's pure and white
On the earth rich and brown.
Just another Sunday morning in my quiet mountain town.
The sun is shining and the grass is green,
Under the three feet of snow I mean.
This is the day when it's hard to wear a frown!
All the happy people stop to say hello,
Even though the tempature's low.
It's a perfect Sunday morning in my quiet little mountain town!"

I love it when you talk dirty! (schadenfreude, Joe, in case you don't know, is taking delight in another's misfortune)

Its so bad in all the right ways.
Joe, just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they really aren't out to get you! (I used to say that to the paranoid patients at the psych hospital I used to work at).
