Hope it helps.
And I recommend "Buddhism Plain & Simple" by Steve Hagen.
I offer you this series of online videos as a good resource for a basic understanding the BuddhaDharma.

"Good Question, Good Answer" seems to be extremely helpful so far.
I know, I felt the same way when I first started! It's so nice to come across something so usable and personally applicable. Be slow in your studies so you have time to search, understand and apply. Remember, don't take anything as truth, question things and find the truth in them instead.
Good luck in your journey into buddhism! I would give you some sites but the ones inwhich Brother Bob and Patriot gave you are really good ones! I will add to Patriots "good books to read" list... that is Buddhism in a Nutshell which is a short, but to the point reading on most of the intro things and really important ideas and beliefs in buddhism.
Also, if you are interested in attending some beginning buddhism/ intro to buddhism seminars, I am sure there are some at a local center! To find those go to the site that patriot gave, and go to the "world buddhist directory" and put in where you are so that you can find a list of the temples, monasteries and centers around you.
Good luck!
