Clear Light

Can anybody explain me what is actually this clear light concept and how it doesn't fall on eternalism?

From what I understand it is a type of awareness that is very subtle, not depending on the body, and that is active at sometimes, specially when we die. Is it really something that goes on and off?

Yup! I imagine it as like the answer to the ole' question, 'What is mind? Mere luminosity.

So, stuff happening may be perceived as mere empty appearance in vast luminosity or clear light.

I also imagine it as active when we're aware of it. This probably takes a bit of training, don't you think?!?

Well, I imagine it as a kind of perceptual thing, like perceiving a mirage. Just some mind play somebody decided to talk about. Like, hey! yesterday I imagined a big pink elephant floating down the street when I was meditating and ever since then I've been looking for it around the next corner!!

So, yesterday, I was meditating and began seeing appearances arising in a kind of clear light, neat huh!?!

When discussing such matters, the only thing that doesn"t truly fall into eternalism is keeping a Noble Silence. How can we speak without creating a referent?
