It was a great interview. I love how animated HH is... he leans forward and points his finger upward... I think a couple of time he took Larry King off-guard. I know a couple of times Larry King was trying to get a word in but HH was on a roll... too funny! The end was the best... Larry King tried to trap HH by asking if after all that had been done by the Chinese, did HH love the Chinese? Without missing a beat HH responded quickly and forcefully "Of course... you have to!" An amazing presence. I'm so please to have lived in the same era as him, as I don't think it will ever be my honour to be be in his presence.

i agree. HHDL did very good.
He was more serious than last time he was on Larry's show and I think it served him and his causes well.

HH the Dalai Lama surely shoulders a lot. I truly respect HH for all that He has done and for making Tibetan Buddhism flourish around the world.

But I cannot fathom the reasons which are illogical of the suppression on his own people when it comes to a practice of a deity HH suddenly sees as invalid and His Govt in exile direct their own people to execute these practitioners ostracized from their own community.

Being in India, under democratic India law, this is religious discrimination. Everyone should have the right and freedom to practice whatever spiritual path they see fit for them. Hence I hope all will be resolve truthfully and peacefully so that peace and harmony can be restored within brothers and sisters.

Thanks for the links, Les. I watched the interview. I thought it was funny, or maybe ironic when Larry King turned to HH and stated.. "OK. So you're a man of god..." HH just laughed, almost amused.

And yeah, Bailey. I think he did call him "Harry"!

Thanks for the links LesC. Dalai Lama has done more than anyone I could think of for the last 50 years. His face and name has become synonymous to Tibetan Buddhism.

I too cannot fathom the persecutions by Dalai Lama which are carried out by the Tibetan Govt in Exile.

As long as we are still in samsara, there will be much sufferings. However, there has been so much sufferings which have originated from Dalai Lama as in the ban on a 350 year old deity, Dorje Shugden practice, hundreds of year old monasteries in India splitting and too many accounts of persecutions and practitioners being ostracized. Take a look at this website, dorjeshugden.com. It has alot of information and is presented in a non-biased way which helps in gathering information to make our own "conclusions"

I can only think there could be a higher reason than all which can be experienced and observed. May we all be free from sufferings and its causes.

Anyway, there is another thread in this forum regarding this debate.

    peace

Thank you Steve for posting up all the youtube video up here for everyone's easy access.

Yes the controversy on Dorje Shugden created by HHDL is affecting much suffering to the Tibetans, especially monks who have been coerced to take on a special oath and to choose sticks to declare they are not practicing. Most monks I have heard from frineds in the monastery does i out of fear that they will be expelled from their monastery. Some that are stronger choose to leave and defect to Shar Gaden. One may question is HHDL causing schism within the sangha community? Did the referendum follow the Vinaya code of conduct? You can read about this on the resourceful dorjeshugden.com the link below:

Thank you for posting the links I really enjoyed that. It was a good example for me in thinking about difficult issues. I wish the Da lai lama had spoken himself about the Dorje Shugden issue so I could have heard the other side of the story.

Panchen Rinpoche meets Dilgo Kyentse Rinpoche!

Check out this interesting article. It gives light to these time of darkness. Truly a refreshing read from all the squabble and schism. It shows how Enlightened beings are above and beyond political agendas.

    Hi Jeffrey,

Here is a link to the videos on Dalai Lama Banning Dorje Shugden. There are many interesting article on this website that you can read on and about the Dalai Lama and this issue. The discussion forum is also interesting as their is a lot discussed and debate on the Dalai Lama and this issue. Hope it helps :)
Ban on Dorje Shugden comes from Dalai Lama Directly, SEE HERE

These videos show clearly the Dalai Lama forces people to abandon the practice of Dorje Shugden. Dalai Lama also asks to destroy the statues, and says he is happy they listened. If you speak up, you are expelled.

I saw this interview which was actually a bit of serendipity as I did not know DL would be on.

One thing that I see has not been mentioned yet: DL mentioned that he believes the middle path has failed.

Is he disenfranchised? Is he wearing/tired?
