Resources for someone looking into Chan/Zen Buddhism

What would be some good resources for a beginner concerning 禅 Chan / Zen Buddhism? Online, books, etc... is there a reputable website for locating a temple in my area? Thank you very much for any help.

Not sure where you are located in Texas, but you could try Fo Guang Shan.

My two favorite books on Zen are "Zen mind, begginer mind". And "Zen flesh, Zen bones".

Definitely worth buying. You might be able to find the first one at a library.

I agree.

Also check out www.mro.org. The site has meditation instructions, and the e-mail address for cybermonk, a senior monastic who answers questions by e-mail.
