There is Beauty in the Breakdown

edited March 2010 in Buddhism Basics
Day to day, things seems to remain much the same. But throughout our lives, we have experiences which hold enormous meaning for us – dear friends, past lovers, caring parents, breath-taking scenery, moments of personal triumph. These vary from individual to individual, but we've all had at least a glimpse of the immense Beauty of life.

I say ‘glimpse’ because it doesn’t seems to last. Eventually, it all breaks down. There’s a good chance you’re reading this right now feeling less than inspired. Maybe you're even a little sad or depressed. But if you’re like me, then there may be at least a part of you that’s still holding your breath hoping that sooner or later that feeling of awe-struckness is going to come rumbling back onto center stage.

<O:p</O:p
I keep coming back to Buddhism over and over again for a simple reason. Because it teaches me that there is beauty in the breakdown. Yes, its true that the beauty won't last, but its beautiful precisely because it doesn’t last. So I know its okay to just let go.

Thanks for reading. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xgcIpKL86Jk

breakdown? you could see it as birth and death, or see it as constant flowing change. yeah, i'd say it's beautiful.
