Tibetan Translation

I don't know if anyone here is fluent in Tibetan or not, but I'm looking for a little help. I want my next tattoo to be the Tibetan word for impermanence. I've found two variations of the word but don't know which is correct.

I think it's Dzongkha script. Just want to get the words correct. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.:)

Seems to be a conjugational difference: mi rtag pa = impermanent, while mi rtag pa nyid = impermanence. I would suggest going to a Tibetan forum, though, or a general language forum, and get as many opinions as possible. I would even more strongly suggest not getting a tattoo in a foreign language you're not fluent in yourself.

That's what I found so far too, but as Stephen pointed out, Wikipedia has impermanence as mi rtag pa.

I looked up tibetan and impermanence on Google and in fact every site seems to have "mi rtag pa" listed as the translation for impermanence.... no nyid in sight.

I wasn't looking for judgment or ridicule, only translation. I don't really care what you think of my tattoo or my reasons for getting it. I simply wanted help translating a word.

I don't think he was trying to be judgmental or mean in any sense, BaileyD. He was just expressing that it would be humorous (but sad) to get a tattoo in a foreign language only to find out later that it means something else, possibly something "naughty".

In this case it might only be Impermanent instead of Impermanence.
