    Rest in natural great peace
    This exhausted mind,
Beaten helpless by karma and neurotic thought
Like the relentless fury of the pounding waves
In the infinite ocean of samsara.

    Rest in great natural peace."

Freedom is uncaused, because that which is caused is unfree. But we fail to recognize the freedom we have always had and act as if we are compelled. We are like flies buzzing at the upper pane of a window when the lower pane is open. There are a variety of skillful means to help us recognize our freedom. The most widely applicable involve the practice of meditation. I'd suggest you start the daily practice of meditation and find a good teacher to guide you in your practice.

The world is not permanent. The mind/body is not permanent. There is no self, no unchanging eternal soul. All things arise and fall based on conditions. You are an effect, and in turn can also be a cause for better conditions for life to thrive. The past flows through you into the future; there is no stop. Anything you do for yourself in this life is lost. Only what is done for the betterment of the future-state of all living beings is carried forth; only your selflessness matters in this life.

    Go! ;)

When you're further down the path, realize that because all things are temporary, your attachments for things or aversion (hatred) toward them are also temporary, delusional thinking, and will cause mental suffering to you... at the very least. They may also cause harm to others. Let go of all of your attachments, learn to see things as they are, and seek to root out the ignorance that keeps you bound to this world. Lose all of the fetters; attain the deathless, the unbound, that ultimate state of Nibbana that is in perfect harmony with reality.
