what do you do after a meditation session

edited April 2010 in Buddhism Basics
Hi!

I'm wondering is there something special you do just after finishing a meditation session, should you relax or do something special?

I've never heard anyone suggest that you either need to, or should do, anything after meditation. The ball is in your court, either leave it be or do something with it as you choose. :)

I normally just sit and stay in the present moment, reflect on non-self or just enjoy immense mental happiness and peace in the present moment without any thoughts. It's a very personal experience so difficult to explain how and what to do. Whatever you do, don't let too many thoughts cloud your mind. Just reflect on the present moment.

After I meditate, I feel like a slice of butter melting on a big pile of pancakes :)

Dedicate the merit from the practice to all beings.

Listen to Napalm Death and bang my head profusely :D

But in all honesty, I usually just reflect and enjoy the happy, compassionate moment. Sometimes (like today) I'll get up to start doing something else, then change my mind and decide to sit down and meditate more.
