Can anyone explain to me the different spirutual realms of buddhism?

An example would be the hungry ghost, the pureland, ect.

    Well, my extremely inexperienced and ignorant handle on it is, that we are all re-born into one of these realms - judge them great, not-so-great and positively dreadful, as you wish - until through enlightenement, we attain Nirvana; No matter how great the re-birth is, you are still subject to the cycle of Samsara, and will continue to be reborn in these realms according to the life you've led previously, until you have your own lightbulb moment.....
    But some Schools of thought/Buddhism state that to be re-born in the Human realm, and not do nuthin' with it, is the greatest waste of all.... so make the most of it!! :p:)
