A somewhat obnoxious request

This may sound rude and unrealistic... but here goes anyway...

There are some people out here (and I won't name names since I don't want anyone to feel excluded) who have put up some great posts for the rest of us.

But then, we have to go and dig through the forums to try to find them again (unless I'm missing some special search feature of this forum).

So, what I'm hoping is that we could create a special thread or area where people could put up posts to the different teachings of Buddha, the Canons, the parables, other teachings that would be beneficial or enlightening.

Is there a way to do that?

this forum software gives us some tools to do things like that. For example, threads that are extremely popular and/or informative, we can "stick" - so that they always appear at the top of the list, no matter how old the last reply was.

We can also create a special locked thread or even an entire locked forum of notable posts and collected wisdom. Then, when someone feels a post or a thread is worthy of being kept for historical reasons, we can move a copy of it into that special "museum" area.

    Any other ideas?

I like your idea about the locked forum of notable posts and other collected bits and pieces of wisdom! Great idea.

Actually, what I should have said was "links". There have been some great links people have put here for the rest of us.

If these "links" to other websites could be stored in some "museum" type thread - that would be cool.

Ok, Brian, your mission (should you decide to accept it) is to go through every single post that contains a link, and place them all in a forum of their own, titled 'Useful internet Links' and then let us know when you've done it.

This message will self-destruct in five seconds.....

    Sorry... I left a couple of ' Dah-de-dah Dah!'s' and 'Pee-dee-ling!s' out....

And yes, you're right, I did forget the disclaimer... but I figured that for a country where 'Golden nutty Bars' have a warning on the side that states 'This product contains nuts', it rather went without saying....!! :buck:

While I was married, I would have killed to have a warning label on me like that.
