Afternoon with nephew and Dharma.

edited April 2010 in Buddhism Basics
Today I spent most of the afternoon babysitting my nephew. He's 4.

I noticed, that on occasion he would cry... like the world was ending.
once we explained things to him he stopped crying, his suffering was based solely on ignorance.

and ... at one point , he had to leave..you know, go home..

upon his mother telling him this fact..
he just dropped to his knees and was like "NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!"
crying like someone who just lost everything..

and I thought oh impermanence.., this kid is a reflection of what I will be like when I die..

"NOOOO!!!!! I don't want to go, I want to stay and have fun etc"

Maybe it would be better to just love and care for him as your nephew and leave the theory discussions to internet bulletin boards? :)
