Bless you all.

Nevermind, we all have our demons in our practice that we need to deal with. The best approach is to be kind to those demons. ;)

TheFound - it's nice to feel that your dog was just worried about you, and I'm sure he was, but quite frankly you probably just absolutely scared the shit out of the poor thing more than anything else. Try to put all that mega uber Buddhist wisdom you hold into practice and control your behaviour at least somewhat next time. I'm sure I'll get pissed on in return for raining on the parade, but it drives me nuts when people do that in front of animals... as you saw, it left your dog terrified and shaking uncontrollably.

Aren't dogs just the greatest? Imagine empathy like that from a cat or a hamster :)

Glad you're ok. Thanks for the blessing. We can all use it now and then.

Poor little mite. Please try to remember his shock and fright before having any more extreme outbursts, TheFound. He's a dog, he's not able to understand why you suddenly start freaking out - and its very scary for him which is why he was shaking.

    Be well and happy.

Yes, TF ... you are the "alpha leader" for your dog. He only knows that he is safe and things are okay if YOU are acting like it is safe and okay.

Actually cats have empathy too. When I was a teenager my cat always came to comfort me and see if I was alright when I was crying or had a bad day.

Or when our other cat fell down from our balcony (that happened every now and then), it didn't take many seconds for the cat to come and tell us what had happened. It just seemed very worried about what had happened.
