Shinto This is another relgion I am still learning about. Just wanted to know what other people know about it.

In my studies, I have read that Shinto is simmilar to ancient pagan relgions because it involves nature worship. It involves worship in Japanese shrines witch are dedicated to the many spirits that inhabit nature which are called the kami.

Ok, a good basic rundown is that In Shinto thought, their is divinity in all things, or all things are kami. There are 8 million kami (I still don't understand the exact significance of that number), which also include some major deities, such as Ameterasu Ohmikami, the Sun Goddes and chief deity in Shinto, as well as several different levels of different kinds of kami, such as a god/dess paricular to a certain mountain, grove, forest or river, and animal kami for each of the different species native to Japan. There is a concept of Heaven (Tengoku) and Hell (Jigoku), as well as reincarnation, although that might be an "add-on" from Buddhist influence.

i have a question to ask about shinto: what will happen to a bad guy when he or she die? his soul will be purify and go to heaven? or hell?? Are the things he does during he is living will affect where he goes after his death??? Why I ask so, because i always hear Japan PM Koizumi using this statement "How big the crime a person do in his live time, nothing concern to his post-death time." to defend his stand on praying those war criminal in Yasukuni Shrine. Izzit all bad fellow can go to heaven? and then what is function of hell? My knowledge on shinto is very limited, I apologize if I offended anyone.....
