Insect capture and release

edited July 2010 in Buddhism Basics
Hello,

I'm not a Buddhist but I do not like to kill insects. After a search for humane fly capture products, I found nothing of use and thought Buddhists might be able to help me with this. Is there a product that captures flies and other insects for outdoor release without killing them?

Regards,
Scott

Funny, the past few days I caught a fly in my hand without really trying and then a rose-bug I held my fist closed until I walked outside and let them go.

I don't know if it was Karma, Mindfulness or just luck, but I don't ever remember being able to catch a fly before.... and this was without really thinking about it, not expecting it to happen. And it's not the end of summer where they are slow... strange uh?

    Scott,

The bugzooka is reportedly an easy to use tool.

That you extend your compassion to insects is great!

    With warmth,

The Bugzooka looks pretty nice. I went ahead and ordered it.

    Thanks!

yes, but can you do it with chopsticks? :D

personally, i like to use a plastic cup and slide a piece of paper under it after i've trapped it, then release. this is the cheapest product i can find.

    wax on, wax off!
