Okay...so I meditated last night. My mind was clear, and the only things I could see was that...kind of colourful fog that changed colours and was like a smoke...it changed patterns (how is that 'fog' called ?). Then, I tried to enter the 'fog' and somehow I felt like I was zooming with my eyes (weird thing, I meditated with my eyes closed, in a dark room).
It 'zoomed' until there was a little 'fog', and after that there was the big dark 'abyss'. I got a little scared and confused, and ended the session.

I know it sounds like a complete madness, or like fantasy, or like a drug induced trip, but can you explain this thing to ...so that I know what was going on, please ?

It's normal. These colours are called phosphenes, and are as a result of tiredness, when the rods and cones are firing randomly. It can also be caused by taking drugs, or by electrical impulses in the brain.
I see them all the time.
A lot of meditators do... It's very common.

    Pretty, aren't they?

Yes, they are pretty ...:D . But the thing that scared me the most ..was that I found myself nearly touching the 'abyss'.
Well, I am still amazed by the fact that I could nearly touch my inner abyss ( i know , it sound childish...)

    P.S.: Phosphenes, you say:coffee:...
