Questions about Buddha

here are a few of my questions about Buddhism. Buddha in general. discuss.

- prior to Buddha's birth, was there another Buddha? or is this the only Buddha for this mode of existence if you get what im going for. If there was another Buddha, was his or her path similar? Was the teaching of others something important at that time, and if so how was it done? Ive got lots of questions but ill leave it at that for the moment.

I wouldnt know where to begin to research this topic...so I must ask.

This is an unanswerable question, in the accurate, definitive and historical sense.

I think the only thing that matters is the Buddha we know about, his teachings, whether they resonate, and looking to our own development in Buddhism.
    The Buddha wasn't Buddhist.
    He wasn't anything at all.
We are Buddhists. I think that's the best way to approach it.....

Its just that my mind always asks the questions that are like this..unanswerable. So heres a good easy question. What is pure land? Im reading a book by the president of Rissho Kosei Kai called Cultivatiting the Buddhist Heart, and it is very nice...he mentions Pure Land. Almost done with the book.
