An extraordinary woman

Whilst cataloguing the books recommended by sangha members, I came across this extraordinary lady:

She lived through the whole process of Buddhism coming to the West and its modernisation. She is part of a tradition of women explorers and I reslly enjoyed reading about her. The Dalai Lama visited her twice.

I love all of her works. I own a few and have checked out the rest via the UCSC library. :)

Definitely an extraordinary woman! I enjoy reading the stories of how she kept running away when she was so young. Her poor parents! :)
