Hi Nick! I am very new as well but I have to say that Buddhanet has been a fantastic resource for me. http://www.buddhanet.net/

I hope this can help you find your own direction :) The Dharma Talks section http://www.buddhanet.net/audio-talks.htm helps me a lot when I'm down. Helps me put my focus outward instead of inward.

Thankyou Sandy, I have been reading a few post's and I feel a bit better about myself already! Just trying to let go of the past is very challenging.

    HI Nick,

Buddhism has great techniques and teachings for letting go of the past and living for the present moment. I think you're in the right place :) Keep reading and find out as much as you can about Buddhism- see if it's for you.

I hope that you find peace.

    Welcome Nick :wavey:

Everyone feels low sometimes, so you aren't alone. The key is to recognize that all emotions, positive or negative, are transient. The best thing we can do is to rest in the present moment.

    Hope you enjoy the forum!

It's actually a pretty quiet weekend here. Sometimes the forum gets pretty busy!

Learn to practice meditation. Reading is good and brings understanding, but Wisdom is where the "real deal" of Buddhism comes in. Wisdom comes only from meditation practice. :)
