finding truth for a purpose

edited September 2010 in Buddhism Basics
As i've been contemplating, I have uncovered many truths. Occasionally I will think that a new truth contradicts a previous truth I had realized. It is important to not get bogged down with apparent contradictions, for realizing the truth just for realizing the truth's sake is pointless. The purpose of any truth you learn should be to assist you on your journey to enlightenment, and the cessation of karma. Therefore it doesn't matter if two things you have believed contradict, for the former helped you to get to the latter, and the hope is that both get you to nirvana.
