Hello,

I have been listening to Gil Fronsdal a lot and I like his straight forward approach. He has a PhD in Buddhist studies, so he's somewhat of an academic and he's also a Soto Zen priest and a trained Vipassana teacher. I haven't heard him talk about psychic powers, past lives and he doesn't jump to irrational conclusions. He quotes studies and gives practical examples and is very easy to follow.

Then I tried listening to some other teachers and I struggle listening. I spot logic fallacies and then everything said is discredited and I tune out.

So, would anyone be able to recommend teachers with an academic approach?
