Hi Good People,

I just found out this morning that my uncle is dead. I write this as just another reminder that death is real, it happens every day. So let's all practice diligently.

I am not posting this for the sake of condolences, so put your sorries in a sack. :p

With Metta,

Guy

    Yeah...

When I was younger I attempted suicide (zzz pills) in the forest.

As I was blacking out the worst thing happened to me... I regreted. Then I heard footsteps coming toward me. Creepy right? And then blackness.

I woke up... I slowly became concious and found that I was walking! I was about 2 miles away from where it happened. I don't know who was walking in my body for all that time. But I felt so relieved upon waking. I felt so beautiful...

I know death... and somehow am glad I had that awful experience. It's made me a more compassionate person. Peace.

Thanks Guy. Condolences anyway. Losing a loved one isn't ever easy. But it does go to show us that everything that lives eventually dies. Knowing that and coming to terms with it is HUGE. I'm very happy that the dharma has made me much more keenly aware of the impermanent nature of everything, and thus that everything I hold dear will be gone someday.

Death is just about as real as life.

    no-one will experience death...

feel free to refute this statement :)

only the living will experience death...

sound like a bit of an oxymoron?

... but fairer to state that 'guyc' experienced the death of his uncle

my last uncle died peacefully in his sleep. It's like he never knew he existed.
