  • Hi,
It's a long time that I'm searching for my true path in buddhism .... i'm just getting tired and hopeless...
first of all, please let me introduce myself.
I'm a 24 years of old man from Iran, left my religion and searched the world for finding the best way to enlightenment, studied kabbalah, Islam, Bahai, Eckenkar, Wicca, hoodoo, Cha'n ,Zazan and dhammakaya...
I spent lots of time for understanding the difference of mahayanna and theravada, I like both of them, specially Cha'n and dhammakaya meditation methods . but there's a problem :
    Can't Leave Cha'n, Can't believe in Dhammakaya :(
in cha'an meditation method, I could see , experience and touch lots of things that were unbelievable, my third eye was getting opened and I was really relax and felt like I'm really powerful ( spirituality) , but I could change nothing out of my inner world!!
In Dhammakaya meditation, I really feel relax and happy after meditation, I can even change the my outside world , success in business, success in my relation ships, success in studies, success in martial art that I practice... etc.
But , I don't know why, really don't know why I feel like there's sth wrong with dhammakaya meditation method!! Although I read lots of bad things about Dhammakaya movement in internet, but they never influenced me.... I still feel my connection to those who practice in wat phra dhammakaya , but , as a person who has experienced religious mass movements in his country from his childhood, are those monks in Dhammakaya really trustful ? is their meditation method something that I can practice till end of my life?
    Please help.
    blessing be.
    Kaytan
  • @PietroPumokin,

Where have you gone, please come back.
  • What is Dhammakaya meditation? Is it like Dzogchen, resting in spaciousness of mind? I would say Dzogchen is reliable at death because Dzogchen has no attainment just opening.

    Am I part way there?

    What is Dhammakaya meditation?
Maybe somebody could describe it in a nutshell? I read the Wiki page but got confused...

Dhammakaya sounds like a kind of visualization meditation.

It is a strange group that treats visualizing and seeing visions of a trans-human body with nirvana. I think they are teaching a distorted version of Buddhism.

Again that is on first glance, I'm not exactly sure what they teach.

This website warns about the group: http://www.buddhismaustralia.org/cults.htm

    To kaytan:

Definitely go for Ch'an if I were you.
  • @xabir, Can I ask what makes you associate Dhammakaya with visions? D is basicly the fundamental ground of mahayana Buddhism. I don't get an association with deities. To me it would be more like mindfulness and the union of wisdom and method.

@Jeffrey: I am talking about the Dhammakaya Movement, not the concept of dharmakaya.

Dhammakaya meditation is about developing astral body. Nothing to do with the Buddha's dharma if you ask me.
  • @xabir, sorry I didn't quite understand the wiki and assumed behind the discussion which I did not pick up on there was a link to the dharmakaya as usually presented. Thanks for the correction.

    I noticed this quote:

"Dhammakaya Cheddi is similar in shape to a UFO"

    :hair:
  • Thanks for tones of replays, but neither of them helped :(:(
    Any how,
I made my mind and changed my way to Cha'n.
    @ Xabir , Thanks... :)
    Blessing be .
