    It depends.
An "ordinary" heavenly\god realm birth is described as being pretty cushy but once the dying process begins the suffering is terrible.
Rebirth in a sambhogakaya pure realm is a different story.

A heavenly rebirth might mean less suffering for a few thousands, maybe millions, maybe even billions of years...but it's still impermanent. But if we fail to realize Nibbana in this lifetime I think a heavenly rebirth is a pretty good consolation prize.

Which heaven did you have in mind, exactly?

('In Mind', being the operative term.....)

If I had a choice, I'd probably go for the Brahma-loka's.

maybe there's just less bad stuff there. i have a book where it says it's a place where the conditions for practicing Dhamma are optimal.

Either that or it's a brown powder with worms in it, of which we are not conscious.

A Temporary Reduction of Suffering, But It is said it is far more fortunate for us to be born with A precious human life as we are able to complete the path here, Gods on the other hand Burn up vast quanities of merit and after a very long time of enjoying them selves develop great dispare and suffering at seeing the location of their next rebirths, Namely one of the 3 lower realms.

Being Born In a Buddha pure realm however is Different from being born In an ordianry samsaric Heaven quite so in that the contaminated aggregates that give rise to Samsara are not present In Buddha pure lands and that we are able to accomplish the path to High Bodhisattva levels there.
