About god

Do buddists belive in god? Do they think budda is some sort of "higher being" like cathlics and jesus.

    1. Some do, some don't. It is immaterial and irrelevant to the Dharma.

    That about sums it up :)

    Buddhism is all over the map - until you remove the philosophy from the "religion of buddhism". There are many buddhists, such as myself, that are not religious at all - I simply look to the three jewels for pointers on how to live my life. I look to the Buddha, the Dhamma, and the Sangha for inspiration.

    Buddhism, more than anything else, is a path of action. You have to move, shake, do, breathe, feel, and live the dhamma in order for it to mean anything. I suppose the same could be said for any religion, but it seems especially true for buddhism.
