Mahayana Cannon

Hey

I was wondering if anyone could tell me about the extra Mahayana sutras? I mean to ask, is there an organized cannon beyond the Tipitaka? I know there's a Tibetan one, but I can't seem to find in depth information beyond the 10 or so most popular sutras. I'm trying to progress my knowledge from Theravada to Mahayana and lastly to Vajrayana so that I don't overwhelm myself, that's why I'm ignoring information on the Tibetan one.

thank you

There is no official mahayana canon. I've just been reading any mahayana sutra I can find. The diamond Sutra is my favorite. Heart Sutra is also great. Lotus sutra is great what I know of it. Thanks for talking about the tibetan canon though. Will proly check out.

I think it's good to read Nagarjuna's text.

Some say he's the "founder" of Mahayana.

You can find a list of Mahayana sutra, historical info here:

Nice. Thank you guys very much.

No wonder I couldn't find that elusive canon... it didn't exist.

(hehe, a cannon is like a battleship cannon.. lol)

Hi there, do a research on what's the relation between Nagarjurna and Madhyamaka and you'll find that it all links back to the Agamas.:)
