  • Buddhanature is nothing but the potential in a sentient being to attain Buddhahood.
In that case, then all there is is potential. There is no buddha.
  • Feed the Buddha. Kill the Buddha. Become Buddha. Kill Buddha again. Become ( ).

A Buddha is aware directly that he/she does not inherently exist.

The buddha is all things and yet no things, and is inseparable from all things and yet not found in them.

Everyone is already enlightened. It's a matter of figuring out what is unenlightening you at this moment.
Actually, everyone is not already enlightened.

Everyone has a pure basis of mind but the pure mind is not the mind of enlightenment.

Enlightenment is KNOWLEDGE. Not book knowledge, not intellectual knowledge but direct insight knowledge.

Everyone is not already enlightened because unenlightened people have never experienced insight knowledge before (where as unenlightened people may possibly have tasted a pure free mind before).

    :)

    Yay for duality!!!
  • Throw down everything and what are you left with?
    Neurosis

    :hrm:
  • Who has neurosis? Who is aware of neurosis?
  • federicafederica Seeker of the clear blue sky... Its better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to speak out and remove all doubt Moderator
Watch and be careful how you progress with this back-and-forth banter, chaps.

If it descends into the usual, pointless, tit-for-tat "2-members only" posting, it will, just like other threads, be closed.
  • Thank you all for your discussion / insights / opinions to the question. It is most encouraging and thought provoking. :)
