@Lincoln do you think you could offer default avatars for people to use? Should be easy?

    Why?
    Why should we impose an avatar on people that don't want one?
    It's a personal choice and I don't see why it's a problem.
    besides, if I give you an avatar you don't want, wouldn't you protest?

    There's a problem with people having a broken avatar if one didn't import from vBulletin. I gotta work on that and, yes, I'll probably substitute in some default thingy for people without one soon.

    It'll be something very innocuous, mostly just so the usernames line up correctly. :) It's mostly a legibility / skimming thing, not trying to make a statement.

    I think the Lotus flower would be a great default avatar. It will go with a theme. BTW I would volunteer on creating avatars if need be. I have GIMP and ready to use it.
