Where Am I?

I have this notion where I feel as if I belong nowhere, that I do not fit into human society or even belong there.
I am trying to work out where my life is going, what I want to do, where I want to go. I moved 6,000 miles and it helped a lot, it was a great change, but inevitably it is all in the mind. I feel lost, and it is very hard to explain ...

  • Hi Tom

To me, your mind does not sound grounded.

I can only recommend some breathing meditation.

    Our true home is within.

    My best wishes for you

  • The greatest gift my meditation practice has given me is an appreciation for everything I need or want is right here. I second Dhamma Dhatu's suggestion. Sit, breathe, accept, maybe even try smiling ;)

Good luck ThailandTom. The first step is awareness and it seems like you are aware you are unhappy. Now you need to take some action to address that. (Who is it that feels like it doesn't belong?)
  • I feel you. Lately it seems I never feel at home anywhere I go. I feel I'm wiser than everyone surrounding me...like they have nothing to teach me, because they are even less enlightened and more deluded than I am (and I realized I'm very spiritually immature).

    I don't feel like I belong anywhere.
  • A tiny bit of mind jumps aboard a fertilized egg and spends some time in a human form. No wonder you feel like that!
I get it all the time!

Meanwhile, in this sloppy biological form which is constantly under threat, I do stick around to do good things (love and compassion) resist negative thinking and feel some happiness.

    :D
