Newbie

edited November 2005 in Buddhism Basics
Hi, I'm new to this site (not to Buddhism!) and I don't know really where to start! How about by introducing myself?

My name is Mark, I am quite young and I live in England. I am an FWBO Buddhist and I'm going to have to leave it there because I now have to go to school!

Take no notice of Fede, Mark. Homework is child abuse. Ride your pony first and then muck out the stable.

Welcome to the forum. I took Bodhipaksa of FWBO online meditation course. Good basic stuff.

    Fede,
Why homework? Isn't one supposed to experience "the moment" whatever that might be? I think Right Intention should come before Right Livelihood. I always have the right intention as I'm sitting here doing nothing.

Wow! I didn't expect so meny replies so quickly!

I'll do my homework later this evening! I tend to do it around 7:30.

Errr... I can't think of anything else to write, I love these online forums, I'm a member of many, the only other reliogious one being beliefnet.com. I'm an admin of a fan-site's forum (the fan site is for Bonnie Wright - she plays Ginny Weasley in the Harry Potter films) and I recently (yesterday!) set up a forum based on The Lion King, which is the best movie of all time! So far, I have 3 members (one of which is me!)

Thanks again for your kind welcomes, I'm going to explore the site now!

    Blessings

    Sangha,

i doubt whether anyone has ever made, here, quite as controversial a statement as yours that The Lion King is "the best movie of all time"!

    :skeptical

Hi there, The Lion King is indeed a good film.
Have you been able to see the stage version in London yet? My wife and I went to see it a couple of years ago and it was absolutely amazing!

    No I haven't seen it.

By the way, it's kind of a kid thing, and it was only set up yesterday, but here is the link for my lion king forum.
