Changes

edited January 2011 in Buddhism Basics
I'm finding that I'm making a lot of changes in my life since I embraced Buddhism. I've given up several activities to make time for going to an insight meditation center and for meditating at home. I've also signed up for a work exchange program at the center. I get credits toward classes for the work I do. So that's going to take more time.

Anybody know what's going on with me?:D

All kidding aside; Congratulations on your ability and willingness to change.
  • Isn't it amazing? I don't know that anyone else has noticed dramatic changes in me since I started my practice, but I certainly have. The old anger is almost all gone, and even when I find it creeping back in, I'm much more able to detect it early and notice that it's there, and not just let it take me over. I've also started to actively shed "stuff" from my life. I've moved into a smaller house and gotten rid of a ton of "stuff" - none of which I've yet missed. My life is a little upside down at the moment due to being a full time student (again... ugh), but I'm enjoying the freedom my practice has started to give me. It's a wonderful feeling. I wish I had more time for dharma study, but all in good time.
