John Roll, a federal court judge, was killed during the Tucson shooting.

Why? Footage shows, he jumped on another human being, shielding them with his body, and thus, actually saving them from being shot. The shot to him was fatal, but the person she shielding is doing just fine.

Isn't it strange how the worst in people can bring out the best in people? Something terrible can bring about something amazing?

    Maybe because at such an instant you don't have any time to think, so the other part of your mind takes over. The part with the loving-kindness. Must have had a good mind, that guy.

    But what about The Ugly People? ;) I am missing those in your post.

    I think he's referring probably to the person who actually fired the fatal shot....

    Yes Mindgate, even after 9/11 there were many heroes as well.
