How do you control the occasional delusion, deep breaths awareness for example?

Hearing your techniques would be helpful.

What type of occasional delusion are you talking about? Delusion in Buddhism means not seeing things clearly (ignorance of reality), and it's either there or not, it doesn't just come and go (in my experience/understanding anyway).
  • like a bad thought, one specific one like.. wanting to push your buddy or something.. lol? Just a way to control a specific delusion that may arise in a situation you know you'll be in

@PeaceandLove, Mindfulness! Be aware of the anger (which is a form of "aversion" in Buddhism)... actually make a mental note that there is anger, and then let it go. If you note it, instead of acting upon it, it should fade away. If it arises again, note it again! It's the same thing we do in meditation so as not to get carried away by thoughts and emotions.

This stops the process, stops the mind from grasping onto the anger and following-through with some unskillful action (bad karma).

If it helps, you can actually combine this with awareness of the breath. Notice that anger has arisen, let it go, and then watch your breath (deep breaths if that helps). This turns the mind's attention to something else.

It'd be good to work on the reason the anger arises too, if you can. :)
  • Just be aware at all times if there is "pull or push" present. Every time you get the feeling of "wanting" or "not wanting" some thing, you find no peace in your mind. The reason you find no peace is that you are in conflict with what is or reality.

It seems to me to be a complete strategem for encountering delusion. You don't need to do anything with it, and it is usually most skillful just to observe and observe and observe.
