Just right off the bat, I wasn't sure whether to put this thread here or in the World Religions section, so admin, do what you want lol
Okay, so I just watched Shaolin Ulysses: Kungfu Monks in America on Netflix and learned that there's a Shaolin studio there that's a direct branch of the actual Shaolin Temple in Song Mountain, China! Well I looked up the master that was part of the show--Shi Guolin--and was happy to see that he's still there, the studio's expanded, as well as--and this is my favorite part--his Buddhist temple! I'm moving to Astoria, Queens, and all of these awesome things are in Queens and Manhattan. So I just sent an email, and hope to hear back soon. I practice Tai Chi and Buddhism on my own because there's, like, no such thing as religious diversity in my town. We have all kinds of people, from all over the country, and even outside, but everybody here is Christian, Catholic, or Atheist.
Anyway, I'm just letting you all know about this most epic of epic discoveries, and hope that anyone here who already lives in the area can maybe tell me more or go see for yourself.
